Kim Taehyung :performing_arts: Acting Appreciation

This blog is already overdue, thankfully I found time to complete it after the busy last weeks of December 2019. It's going to be my late birthday blog for Taehyung and at the same time a 3rd part of my series for each BTS member's acting appreciation. It wasn't planned but I realize it has become a series of post so why not lol. If you want to check out my previous ones feel free:

And to complete the KIM's on my list, I'll be focusing on V this time, as we are aware of, he's the Bangtan member acknowledged as debuted Actor in a Korean Television industry. Taehyung even won the "Best Idol Actor" for 13th Annual Soompi Awards in 2018 by his role as "Han Sung" in the historial drama series "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth" as a matter of fact, it's OST which he sang with JIN even got nominated in MMA 2017. He gained recognition for being really good in the field.

I have seen few posts about him dedicated entirely for his HWARANG casting, moments and highlights, some are the time he's acting with Jimin on broadcast for fun, so I made the content here a bit different amongst the rest (I hope so). I would follow the same format I had with my first two blogs.

Take note: I'm not an acting expert nor someone who study performing arts, everything here would basically just an observation and appreciation of his talent in acting.

[ MUSIC VIDEOS ]

A lot of idols, not just BTS are sure

have tried hand into acting because of

need in music video shootings.

Like what I mentioned before, it plays

an avenue for them to showcase their

talents and here I'll share some of my

favorites when it comes to Taehyung's

character portrayal.

:clapper: Danger

BTS had few MVs prior Danger era but here's where he first caught my attention, acting wise. He delivers his expression well. My favorite scene throughout the video was when he cut his hair that implies a dramatic changes or way to shed the past and move on. Just by looking at his face, it feels so heavy and that's when you realize its effective.

:clapper: I Need U

For me, one of the superb acting skills Taehyung has shown us even back then, during the HYYH era is his scenes in I NEED U. It's iconic. When he cries to anger, sadness and sheer realization of losing himself, with regrets of his mistakes and hardships, that was truly impacting to watch while the music plays in the background. It's intense, powerful and I can't deny he's really the best actor in the group.

:clapper: Run

Acting takes practice and determination, especially if you are the lead or main character that people follows in certain show. What I love about this scene is that, he's able to act underwater with such on-point expression like it's easy breezy. Raw but you know that he's conveying something inviting, either you got to save him there or not. That's just so good.

:clapper: Blood, Sweat & Tears

If we are to start about Taehyung's deadly stares or evil smirks, I'm one fan of it! In BS&T mvs, he is incredibly amazing that it would scare the sh** out of anyone in shook. Either be his part on the Korean version or Japanese MV, I love how dark of a persona he has exhibited. Pulling into a creepy psycho expression just Wow me so much.

:clapper: Spring Day

In contrast to the psychopathic one, Taehyung can also be all soft and peaceful, his acting in Spring Day isn't the usual frightening situation that's why it's much easy to receive that even if the video shows a cold weather, him singing, with plain or silent gestures sends warmth to the audience.

:clapper: Singularity

Other than dancing on his very own Singularity, there are parts where he acts to convey the message of the song choreographed not only with dance steps but also with his acting skills. This giphy shows that part which I love the most, he looks likes some gothic prince with a cold heart on the floor. His gaze is stunning, mesmerizing enough to withdraw only to him, his gestures are on point.

:clapper: Heartbeat

Taehyung in BTS World particularly on his OST, Heartbeat MV is an absolute charm and light of the day! His story line in the game is promising to follow. He renders balance amount of emotion his character has to show us.

:clapper: 화양연화 on stage : Prologue

This intro is like the turning point of the entire "Most Beautiful Moment in Life" connected music video storyline where Taehyung has been regreting what he did with his father (from I NEED U parts), and for me his acting is really impressive and powerful. That's why fans (ARMYs as ourselves) enjoy to discover theories, know what BTS mean, how are each scenes linked to one universe to another, one person to another, just so effective like that and even I myself, wouldn't believe if Taehyung on his acting isn't Pro enough coz damn he's really versatile.

:clapper: Stigma

Talking about angst and softness, Taehyung do have an ability to provoke a lot of emotions to the viewers. May it be this scene with a pup, in grievance, and up to the time he's caught by a cop being brought to detention like it's nothing. The way he looks at the camera can send shiver down my spine and I'm not even kidding.

:clapper: LY: Highlight Reel

Mixed emotions we have here right now, but yeah, I need to share how I also like that the guys explore into mature roles that needs to team up with people, involving other extra characters, in a weigh that they can learn. Here, you would know how professional an actor he is to work with, it reflects on the build-up the two shows on screen. Such a heartwarming and lovely take.

:clapper: Euphoria (Wonder)

For this video, Taehyung was in blissful moments and mood with the rest of the until they reached the end and a familiar event happened. The way he had to reenact the same expression in an old scene to connect with the past Bangtan storyline but exchanged situations to JIN makes it even more impacting (esp watching it end just like that and boom). The question in his eyes left the same impact to audience like me.

These are second hand opportunities

for idols to test their skills into acting

whenever have to prepare

short skits, do a role playing or act for

a challenge/game, anything they do

as a gift to fans or just for fun!

MBC Flower Boys Bangtan HS

Let's talk outside the music related acting and some skits BTS prepared for variety of reasons mentioned,. First is this V as welcoming new friend in the classroom. His deep voice and face that's so natural are so convincing to the nth level. :">

House of ARMY

Who else also his cool aura as a brother of Kim Army who happened to secretively like BTS hiphop songs too haha. Taeyung, aside from being good with dramatic, natural and romantic acting can also be very good in humour or comedic roles such as this. Actually all of them BTS, but if its Taehyung, sometimes its so effortless that he pull off a funny lines easily.

Run! BTS - EP11

One of the best Run! BTS I love is this episode with Yoonji :hearts: in a back-to-school setting. V was in character of a geek student befriending his new classmate (transferee) and its so hilariously skit played. :)) Maybe because his dynamic with SUGA too worked well even if they're acting.

BTS Comeback Show

VMIN VMIN I gotta be all soft on this comeback show skit or intro they prepared because it seems so legit you know? Jimin brought him to a magazine shop/cafe store with recreation and anime books to read, and spent time together (eating, cuddling, sharing stories) --- why am I convinced its not an acting at all? That's just how easy it is for the soulmates or bffs I guess. Taehyung being softie and receiving here melts my heart, ngl xD

Run! BTS - EP 73

On this episode, V has fit himself to delivering lines in a K-drama scene of "Moon Embracing The Sun" but what I adore about this whole episode of them rehearsing to act was when he took the invisible slate for Jungkook doing some parts from "Kill Me Heal Me" instead and Taehyung clowned him with Jin. :))

Run! BTS - EP 76

So there after their rehearsal and shooting plans, Director Taehyung ed the group for the skit/short film "Dalbang Dorm" it was so funny and I think V's part at the end where he's eating an icecream, still compose and in character to act while SUGA's cutting the scene end already (saying 'Incredible!') :hearts: He was sooo dumbfounded and cute :((

Magic Shop (5th Muster)

Last but not the least is the recent VCR from 5th Muster fanmeeting where Jungkook was the main character throughout the journey, exploring all areas of the magic shop and he stumbled to Taehyung's studio room. They were so funny and uwuable :hearts: He's in total mood as a photographer, vintage, classy and yet he's trying to entertain and teach the maknae to smile and take a pose. It's so adorable!^^

To conclude and in my own opinion, Kim Taehyung is indeed an amazing and skillful actor, he have such confidence and creativity that looks so natural whenever I watch him deliver his lines (his voice ugh my weakness), add on to that his control on body language & facial expression to be able to convey the intention of his character. From his humorous side to the most shattering ones he portray, he always does it outstanding! His artistry is limitlessss from photography, painting, directing, dancing, singing, rapping, acting, he's born a ★

Due to blog image limit, I didn't even include some of those short screen times he have on other VCRs or commercials they had but count them as part of those extra-ordinary things he bring us after the slate. I'm already excited for the next acting project he may have in the future. :hearts:

** Don't ask me why Winter Bear isn't included, for me the video is not an acting entirely but compose of his travel, free-time, capturing who Taehyung really was off work (not gonna argue with anyone about it lol) **

What's your favorite acting scene he does so far? (Hwarang is an exemption of course, thats given to be a breakthrough).
