surprise.

hello! lately, i haven’t been able to be online due to my internet being messed up. so, i’ve had lots of time to write. here’s a piece i wrote in zoe’s point of view. the ship involved is zared (zoe and jared). they went through a breakup, you’ll catch my drift after you start reading.

“Waking up to kiss you when nobody’s there,”

If there was anything I could do to make this work, to make our relationship last I would. Had I known that yesterday was the last day I would wake up next to you was yesterday I would have been nicer. I woke up this morning and didn’t find you next to me, instead a note.

“The smell of your perfume still stuck in the air.”

You didn’t bother to say much in that note. ‘I need space, it’s not that I don’t love you, it’s not that I don’t need you, I just don’t want to argue anymore.’ We don’t even argue, we bicker. We play fight about the stupid things like what to get for dinner, who’s driving, where we’re going to adventure to over the weekend. Everywhere I go, I smell you, or hear the conversations we had there.

“It’s hard. Yesterday I thought I saw your shadow running ‘round.”

I saw you in the supermarket earlier today, I wanted to walk over to you and break down asking why. Why did you leave me in that way, why not the night prior at dinner? How long had you known you didn’t want to be with me anymore? Was it you or was it your parents? I know how they responded when you told them you were dating the dead kid’s sister.

“It’s funny how things never change in this old town.”

I don’t have anything else to say about you, or your antics, or your family. Part of me never wants to speak to you again, but unfortunately I will have to at some point.

“So far from the stars.”

Jared, love, when we were trying for a baby a few weeks ago? Surprise.
