Alphonse Elric, the son of Van Hoheinheim and Trisha Elric. Alphonse is the Youngest brother, while Edward Elric is the oldest. Alphonse goes by "Al" in the Manga by Edward.

After a tragic loss of their mother, Edward and Alphonse studied hard to try and transmute their mother back. The transmutation went wrong, and Alphonse lost his whole body, while Edward lost his left leg. Edward, feeling guilty, grabbed his father's nearby suit of armor and transmuted Al back with the cost of his right arm. Edward got Automail in place of his arm and leg, with the help of his childhood friend Winry Rockbell. Alphonse got a body that would never let him sleep, eat, drink, or feel anything other than emotion. Edward is Alphonse's only family he has left. Together, they burned down their house and set on a journey to get their original bodies back.

Alphonse is the Caring, and humble brother. He uses his suit for good, as in he takes poor cats from the streets and hurt women and puts them in his empty suit of armor. Alphonse always was mistaken as the Fullmetal Alchemist, but always was corrected by Edward.... As in he would beat them for them calling him short...

Alphonse experienced a lot of new troubles and memorable events along the journey to get their bodies back. Although he could not sleep or eat, he always kept his spirits high and tried to calm down his brother.

During Battles, Alphonse would usually learn something and use it in the next battle. If you paid close attention to his fighting style, you can see its a little bit different each time. Alphonse is the stronger brother, due to his armor and his ability to not die easily. So, Enemies that they would face would either One: Beat them. Two: Be Defeated. Or Three: They would have to chase them because they would do something to get away.

Alphonse met a lot of people that he liked, hated, or respected. He blames himself when he sees someone die. He has all these pulling him down, but learns, eventually, he couldn't do anything about it. That made him feels more at blame until Edward cheers him up.

Alphonse is a sweetheart, and there is now way you could not like him. As soon as he did get his body back, he went to Xing to learn about the purification arts to help his brother and the rest of the world who is suffering from Alchemy.
