Kappa’s Existence: Kappa, the ancient curse bound to Sai, was hidden from the world by her parents, Sora and Utao. Due to Kappa’s immense age and power — older even than Sukuna — her existence posed a significant threat to cursed world balance and interested figures like Kenjaku.

Kenjaku’s Hunt: Years after Kappa’s binding to Sai, Kenjaku sought out the Kome clan to locate the curse. He suspected the clan harbored a special-grade entity but didn’t know it had already merged with a child.

Refusal to Cooperate: Sora and Utao refused to reveal any information about Kappa’s whereabouts or Sai’s status. Despite threats and interrogation, they remained silent.

Clan Massacre: In response, Kenjaku annihilated the entire Kome clan — including distant — as a show of force and punishment for their defiance. He left no survivors.

Sai’s Return: Sai was not present during the attack. When she returned, she found her home in ruins, her family slaughtered. This confirmed Kappa’s suspicions that Kenjaku would never stop hunting powerful curses — and those connected to them.

Aftermath: Orphaned and now fully isolated, Sai sought refuge with the Zenin clan, only to be turned away. With no allies left, she became a rogue Special Grade sorcerer, carrying the burden of survival, vengeance, and secrecy regarding Kappa’s true power.
