Lol I just want to make it sound dramatic. As per the title, we are going to to purge (disable) all inactive chats and implement “Active Chat Rule” (ACR) system

••>Why Are We Purging?<••

Simple answer: It’s a mess

There has been too many public chats but every single chats are barely alive. It just makes it hard for new and old who wants to be active in chats trying to identify which are the active ones. We hope that with less chats, ppl can focus ing in certain chats and make it lit/lively

••>What is ACR?<••

Active Chat Rule is basically the requirement a public chat need to meet in order to stay functioning and not disabled by the staffs.

THE REQUIREMENTS ARE :

1) The chat must not stay dead for more than 2 weeks

2) For a chat to not be considered dead, there must be a “meaningful conversation” at least between 2 people for at least 3 different occasions in the 2 weeks period - so just one person talking to him/herself in a chat to keep it alive doesn’t work

3) To put it simply, if the chat seems at least meaningful and is required to exist by at least 2 ppl to chat in, we will not disable it.

How It’s Going To Be Implemented?

You may want to ask, “can I save my chat?”

Yes you can, from the day of this post, we will PM all chat creators to notify them. Then we will give 3 days before we officially implement the ACR system on the 15th October 11:59am KST.

On the 15th, ACR system will be implemented and any dead chats will be disabled.

From then on, ACR wil be activated on every 15th and last day of the month. Any dead chats will be disabled, so keep note of those dates

••>Can I Make A New Chat?<••

So far we do not impose any restrictions on making new chats, it will be the same if the chat you create is not active, it will be disabled on ACR activation day. Feel free to make new chats if you wish so :)

••>Exceptions<••

We will revamp the main group chats (Official group chats created by the staffs) because there has been too many ghost making the chats dead. So we will delete all Main Group Chats except for MGC2. And create a new one for people to be active in

For your information MGC2 has constantly been the most active chat. It is sometimes so active I had to put it on mute. I hope the soon to be created Main Group Chat can be the same :relieved:
