Hey guys Steeb here and it seems like ages since I’ve posted but I’m back with another blog today, this time it’s time to wish the amazing Emily VanCamp a happy birthday, of course for all of those who don’t know who she is which I’m assuming is barely anyone but I’ll say it anyway, Emily plays Shield Agent Sharon Carter otherwise known as Agent 13.

Today in this blog I’m going to show you how and why Sharon was important to both movies she stared in and why she shouldn’t be overlooked as a “simple love interest.” And what the future might hold for her.

The Nurse Across The Hallway

Sharon is of course the great niece of Peggy Carter and was inspired by her stories even wanting to Shield herself despite her mother’s protests, however she never revealed her last name during her time as a Shield Agent due to not wanting to be in her great aunts shadow but did use the same Agent name as her aunt, Agent 13. She was personally assigned by Nick Fury to monitor and protect Steve Rogers posing as a nurse named Kate. One day Steve came home just as Sharon had finished speaking to her aunt Peggy on the phone asking her out on a date after offering to let her use his washing machine. Sharon declined however saying hospital scrubs are exposed to germs with Steve politely telling her “He’d keep his distance.” However when gunshots were heard she rushed back to Steve’s apartment revealing who she really was, Agent 13 and assigned by Fury himself to protect him.

Staying Loyal

When all Shield agents were ordered to the manhunt for Steve Rogers by Jasper Sitwell after Steve had escaped the Triskelion and had taken out multiple strike operatives, Sharon spoke up asking why Steve was being hunted down with Alexander Pierce telling her that Steve had lied to them and had information about the murder of Nick Fury, later when Steve returned he revealed that Hydra had been infiltrating Shield for the last 70 years with Steve giving his speech about the price of freedom, Carter of course chose to stay loyal to Steve willing to pay the price of freedom along with a handful of other Shield agents brawling with Strike agent Brock Rumlow in the process.

Peggy’s Funeral And Catching Up With Steve

Sharon of course left Shield after learning about Hydra’s part to play ing the CIA due to her impressive marksman skills and being an impressive spy. The next time she was seen it was at Peggy’s funeral speaking about her aunt and revealing how she was her grand niece but never revealed that to anyone due to not wanting to be in her shadow as well as giving the speech which cemented Steve’s opposition to the accords making sure he stood against them as he believed they weren’t the best thing for the Avengers moving forward. Steve then caught up with Sharon and asked Sharon if Peggy knew about her spying on him with Sharon telling her that she didn’t.

Capture Of The Winter Soldier

After walking her back, Steve and Sharon were told by Natasha Romanoff to try and apprehend The Winter Soldier.

After having their weapons taken by the government, Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson were left unarmed however, Sharon came to their aid going against the accords and the CIA aiding #TeamCap leading to Steve thanking Sharon for what she had done warning her they would be after with Sharon simply responding with an “I know.” Steve then pulled Sharon in for a kiss with the 2 of them discussing their thoughts about it being late after.

After her encounter with Steve Sharon was never seen again however she was unfortunately one of the many casualties of the snap which Thanos The Mad Titan, which he had done after collecting the 6 infinity stones with Sharon being dead for 5 years only returning after Bruce Banner’s reverse snap which allowed everyone who had died 5 years ago to return back to the world of the living.

The Future?

While Sharon has been absent from the MCU for the last 3 years the future is looking bright with Emily VanCamp ing the cast of The Falcon And Winter Soldier tv series, with her of course reprising her role as Sharon Carter. While many rumours have floated around about Sharon being a couple with Bucky I believe there are many better ways to incorporate Sharon into the series, for one she is an excellent spy so her skills could come in handy to Bucky and Sam, she’s even made the master spy, Black Widow believe that she was a nurse for a certain period of time, however there is another way she could play a pivotal role in the series. Sam Wilson of course is going to be succeeding Steve Rogers so he may feel that he has a huge legacy to live up to and may struggle to cope with that, Sharon is no stranger to this as she had to live up to Peggy’s legacy, like Steve before him Sam may receive some advice from Sharon about how to deal with living up to heroic and legendary figures easing his struggles as the new Captain America
