history

emilia clark was born on halloween night, 5 minutes after her twin brother eden. she tried to pretend, but she didn’t really have the happiest childhood. her parents were unhappy with each other, and while they attempted to hide it, they fought all the time. this was hard on emilia, who felt bad that her birth stopped this broken couple from getting a divorce. luckily, she had a teacher, tiana duke, who she saw as another mother, and they kept in even after she graduated.

she is not from the mcu’s main universe, but one that branched out from what if episode five (zombies). when zombies started infecting people and she had to watch her parents get turned, emilia, her brother, tiana, and other strangers formed a group of survivors. wanting to prevent anyone else from getting hurt, she took it upon herself to be the leader, and blamed herself any time someone died.

tiana was a vampire, and when emilia found out, she begged to be turned, because she knew that her group wouldn’t be able to make it if something happened to her, and she didn’t want to leave eden with no family. reluctantly, tiana turned her, but people suspected her secret. instead of being grateful that she sacrificed her humanity to protect them, they hated her, and attacked her as more people were becoming zombies.

her final straw was when tiana found a cure for vampirism, and used it to make herself mortal again. she understood that her mentor was just tired of living forever, but hated the decision when tiana got herself bitten defending eden. not wanting to become a zombie and risk everyone’s safety, tiana begged emilia to kill her, telling her that this was the path she had chosen, and how proud she was of her. after tiana’s death, emilia convinced eden to give up on this universe, and the two ended up in the mcu’s earth.

she wasted her life away since then, relieved that she didn’t have anything to worry about anymore, befriending mila fox. she, eden, and mila formed a tight knit friendship, and they are the only ones emilia feels she can fully trust. her only problem now is that whenever she sleeps, she goes back to her old universe, having to face her zombified group try to kill her. so she stopped sleeping, as drinking animal blood keeps her beautiful anyway.

when steve rogers and sam wilson were on the run after civil war, she was one of the people who helped them, having spotted them in public and swore not to rat them out. while they were staying in the area she would get them supplies and give them the recent news, and updates on how the others were doing.

emilia is a skilled leader when she puts her mind to it, with quick wit and sharp thinking she can come up with plans of action on the go, which proves useful. she can adjust to whatever surroundings she finds herself in, and is very observant, noticing the little details of things.

emilia has amazing potential, but what ruins her is the lack of motivation to reach said potential. if she has no ion or reason to do something, she’s not going to get it done, or do it poorly to get it out of the way. this work ethic comes across as lazy and inefficient, and her short temper & quitter mentality don’t help.
