Nightmare kept running around on all fours and kept tripping over his long hair which Epiales thought was unbecoming of a young prince so the King of Nightmares tied little Nights hair with a ribbon and taught him to walk upright...though sometimes if he reverts to a feral mindset even when he is grown up he runs around on all fours... He also chewed on everything....like a little puppy

He thinks he is edgy when he is old as f and looks like a rejected Green Day member. I gave him fishnet stockings and long hair that he teased up with tons of hairspray cause I picture him to be sorta androgynous in style . He lives for spikes , skulls, and leather. He wears green or black thigh-high heeled boots and usually leering people with his tongue out . He is a combo of Gene Simmons and Alice Cooper in style and behavior. His cloak can turn into batwings . Anyone who can pull off guyliner and blue-green eyeshadow combo is a vibe in my book. And yes, that is black lipstick. He also loves 1710's and 1800's European fashion . But in the mortal world, he either looks like he belongs to an 80's hair metal band or he looks like a gothic dude combined with a Dominatrix(don't ask) in style

Yes I drew Nightmare in his super fancy royal coronation regalia which he has not worn in ages...he could still fit in them but barely cause dad bod🙃..his outfit is based off of pre revolution French Nobility which My Nightmare is Somewhat based on the Sun King Louis XIV who was vain but powerful and had tons of portraits painted of himself along with military being one of his priorities. His reign is the longest at 72 years and 110 days, which is the longest time a monarch has ruled over a country in history. So yeah , yes, WHY MY NIGHTMARE IS MODERATELY BASED ON HIM. DUDE BE PIMPING

☆Royal Regalia ☆

He is associated with black roses, and I based the design of his clothes off of British and French royalty but over all its Victorian and Gothic European. He sits on his throne, looking elegant, but if you piss the king off, there will be very dire consequences. He rules with an iron fist and can be petty. Nightmare does have a castle, which is basically a gothic cathedral sorta thing. And his throne is red velvet chair perched upon a mound of skulls and bones with the tortured souls of his subjects. Swirling around him as his castle looms over the dream realm, the denzins of the realm know he is the boss over them he is indeed the king of Nightmares . there is only one person who is above Nightmare, and that is the god of sleep. Morpheus who prefers to watch over another realm, leaving this realm to Nightmare....bad play on his part, in my opinion

☆Backstory☆

|Intro|

The fearsome son of Epiales who was borne from his fathers desire for his legacy to continue after..the incident... Nightmare , King of Nightmares and of the Dream Realm... not The Dreaming for that is the expanse of all. His realm is over one universe...so Morpheus granted his blessing for Nightmare to hold sovereignty over the realm since it is such a oddball...That brutal king...Said to raid childrens dreams with his fearsome minions and devouring what they let off...fear...one of the strongest emotions...such a being he is rides around upon his ebony steed whom neighs out fire and emits phantasms from its nostrils. Nightmare has many legends like how he stores the fear energy he gets from his victims in skulls he procured from gravesites...or some say he appears as what most call a Black Shuck or HellHound but no that is a different creature...not Nightmare...This dreamon luckily is somewhat loyal to Morpheus...but he strays away when he wants to...but regrets his defections from his master...the only one whom he submits fully to...the only one whom he truly fears...

|Birth and Early Years|

Epiales the self created god of nightmares and King of the Dream Realm was getting antsy for retirement so without a wife using his vast powers he conceived a son whom he named Nightmare(Cause he was lazy). The young prince was held in high esteem by his father as the next heir to the throne. Nightmare was sent to live in Everiynne, a dimension higher than the 6th dimenson when he was a teenager. After his "cousin," The Dweller in Darkness betrayed him when he was a teenager. Nightmare abandoned the realm and went to the lower realms. The demon was given control of the Dream Realm of universe 1788 by Morpheus, who is one of the endless, along with a Splinter Realm known as Nightmare Realm. Morpheus is the only being (in the dream realm that is ) who is above Nightmare in rank.

|Coronation|

When Nightmare was of age he was crowned by Morpheus as King of the Dream Realm since the entity trusted him for some unknown reason....but not of the Dreamscape itself...the demon took his role as king very seriously ....bordering on tyrannical. Nightmare would eat or kill anyone who threatened his throne... Morpheus trapped Nightmare in his own castle with chains that muted his powers for a century because of his behavior and drunkenness of power. The Lorekeeper took on role as king of both the Dreamscape, which is the main universal realm for all along with The Dream Realm, which is but one of many pocket dimensions within the Dreamscape   Morpheus kept an eye on Nightmare to make sure he won't try to escape before the punishment was lifted. Nightmare's castle is an elegant mastery with a touch of Gothic gloom and Baroque elegance loosely based on The Palace of Versailles. He used the spirits of the French greats who worked on said palace with many portraits and sculptures of the regal King Nightmare and his servants. There in the rich and luscious garden with many odd and dreadful flora with classical statues of deities of night and sleep lies a statue of the Dream King long hair flowing in the wind sitting upon his rearing obsidian steed with the Blacksword in hand pointing to the moon. The statues' terrifying presence brings such emotions in the heart . Nightmare after his father's imprisonment was accepted into the Fearlords by The Dweller in Darkness in Epiales place

|A Helluva Good Time|

Asmodeus like Nightmare decided to make the best of his abilites to charm and beguiling and of his situation so he decided to open up a Lounge /Club called "House of Asmodeus" It was a booming business headed by Asmo himself and many came to enjoy the erotic vices put together by Asmodeus himself which I will not be naming here cause Pg-13 *cough* but it was a bar as well. This is when he met Nightmare while the demon was visiting the oneiroic realms . He noticed Nightmare needed someone.. and they started to date with Nightmare being the dominant power. It was what you expected from a demonic relationship:ionate and Dysfunctionally functional. It worked when it seemed not to since demon etiquette is different than humans. Asmodeus is who taught Nightmare his....tricks of the trade, so to speak . After decades of tension between the Fearlords and Hell-Lords Nightmare and Asmodeus broke it off after they got into a huge fight cause Asmodeus kept serial cheating on Night with mutliple people over the years.

|A Model Demon|

Nightmare, after his punishment, was up and found a way to escape into the physical realm by using hair from mortals he collected over the years... Why? Cause he was bored. It was the dawn of the 80s when Nightmare decided to become a part-time model and rock star to make some mortal money. He succeeded greatly in the modeling and music world for a few years ... even appearing on high tier magazine covers like Cosmopolitan and Rolling Stone. His band was a combination in sound of alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, and Bauhaus. It was made up of other demons who took on mortal forms. He shocked the world with his gothic, edgy style that would make Ozzy Osborne swoon and families condemn him for being too "Satanic." Black Leather was his go-to with a spooky touch like fake blood and revealing outfits reminiscent of a domantrix which were frowned upon at the time of the 80s but sometimes when he was even more fervent he pranced around shirtless . He even had whips , chains, and switchs. Nightmare's stage persona was domineering , boisterous, and spooktacular with many unexpected attributes like actual guillotines, reptiles, and more. But as time went on, he got tired of the letters from disgruntled parents and bascially shat all over them in writing and interviews. After accidently revealing his true self as a demon, he was immediately shunned by most of the conservative public. So he turned to alcohol . And Met a groupie who was a part time Actress Named Roxanne

|Love is in the Air|

It was love at first sight for Nightmare and Roxanne...she was a stunning gothic beauty with black teased hair and sublime curves and rose red lipstick...she stood out since she was in the front of the crowd during one of Night's concerts...Nightmare never saw anything like her before and felt...something new...he felt like he wanted to be with this woman every second of the day...and he was nervous. So after the concert he and his band did a meet and greet with a select few people and Nightmare saw Roxanne that fallen angel. He walked over to her and tried to woo her by singing " Feed my Frankenstein" in his guttural voice. She was taken aback by the lead singer trying to serenade her. They looked into eachothers eyes and a mutual agreement was made...she loved him and he loved her....so they started dating and she became his stage actress since he needed one for his concerts since his former stage actress dropped out cause one of his bandmates kept trying to flirt with her. Roxanne and Nightmare cut a dashing form together, and Night was super protective over her and would get viciously angry if one of the guys tried to hit on her. Nightmare was drinking alot though and would always be seen with beer or wine in his hands. Roxanne told him to take a break from touring since he seemed stressed out, and he took her advice.

|Dreamqueen|

After a small break from the music industry and is now a recovering alcoholic Nightmare continued on with his normal activities until he saw her....Zhilla Char, a succubus in Liveworld Nightmare never saw such beauty! He was infatuated with her but she did not return his feelings and he was dating Roxanne ...so he had forced relations with Zhilla not knowing about succubi's reproductive ways....Zhilla died giving birth to Dreamqueen who was born with her mothers memories...and her father's powers. Roxanne broke up with Nightmare when she discovered that he had a kid from another woman...poor Night was devastated and he tried to get her back to no avail. So the dreamon did what any self-respecting demon would do....he tried and failed to eat Roxanne. Nightmare was a strict parent bordering on abusive cause he dident know how to be a parent. So after years of torture, Dreamqueen had it and moved to Liveworld to be her own boss...with no one telling her what to do.

|Rock Bottom|

Nightmare now a lost soul shut himself up in his apartment in downtown Mainehatten. He slammed the bottles and beer down ....a 6 pack and a bottle a day. Nightmare was really depressed knowing he would be forgotten and shunned . Now an alcoholic he had many partners, but they ended up leaving him cause he got abusive while drinking. He was also dropped from the record label cause he started appearing during his concerts drunk off his ass cursing and shirtless, while flailing knives around . Nightmare was requested by court order to go to rehab after slashing at one of lovers with an axe injuring but not killing them in one of his drunken rages

|The Conflict of Realms|

The Dweller in Darkness being the head and father figure to the council of specters, demons and bogeymen called the Fear-Lords (which usually meet in Everinnye )decides to call for action upon all beings on Earth...and he sent a big "F-you" to Mephisto (which they have been in conflict with his Hell-Lords for no reason other then that their council names sound similar so one thinks the other is copying and vice versa)in a letter that says "Hah we are accomplishing something" But Straw Man was the only one against the idea since Earth was his home and he warned 34 year old, new father Stephen Strange of the Fear-lords plot. Nox ,the matriarch consoled Straw Man, not knowing of him alerting Stephen . So after a brutal battle between Earths sorcerers led by Stephen ....the sorcerers emerged victorious . Nightmare became infuriated with the Fear-Lords losing and blamed The Dweller in Darkness ...so the demon tried to overthrow The Dweller in Darkness (TDID)as leader...but of course TDID won and exiled Nightmare to the mortal world yet again as punishment...The demon was even more enraged and lost all sense of dignity becoming a feral monster who was always hungry and angry cause his powers were cut in half...

|Blade|

A very special person who introduced Nightmare to the way of mortals ....and love yet again... Nightmare was a feral beast, basically only ran by pure instinct. Until a vampire hunter named Blade walked in an old abandoned warehouse while hunting some rouge vampires. But he found something else....a shirtless pale, long-haired , dream demon eating a person. Their relationship budded after the demon, and the hunter agreed to work together. Blade had his hands full with basically a child trying to learn about his world, but after ups and downs (and many lost pillows!), the demon began to change....and they began dating.. Blade is the only other person who knows his mortal name : Edvard Habardash, which is a name Nightmare is embarrassed about. The demon tried to dominate Blade but little did the demon know that Blade was trying to tame Nightmare as well...Nightmare slowly got caught up in his own emotions and After two years in a relationship on the night that Blade was going to propose they had a fight....a fight that would change the demons perspective on mortals forever. The hunter was nagging Nightmare on his bad behavior and was tired of the demon mooching off of him ..Nightmare snapped and his demon instincts took over..and he tried to eat the only mortal who gave him a chance at a good life . And what's worse is that it was the night Blade was going to propose marriage to the demon. After tranquilizing the enraged demon with maximum strength, dart Blade dragged the past out Nightmare into his car and drove him back to the place they met...the warehouse and left him there...

|Trauma and Fear|

Fitting for love obsessed dream demon to go around ....."playing around" so to speak...and that playing around did have its ups and downs in the demons opinion....so of course he has a child or two that he barely knows about...One he knows about for sure is Trauma or Terrance Ward who is his kid through a human proxy...Hot topic threw up all over Terrance Ward ...mostly human with a bit of demon ...I mean what do you expect from the son of Nightmare himself? Yeah, gotta be a bit moody in those circumstances, but it could be just hormones...he is only 18 after all . With his father... their relationship is complex since it soured after Nightmare possessed Terrance while sleeping to infiltrate the real world and turn the waking world into a living nightmare. Terrance has the ability to (sometimes against his will) turn into peoples worst fears. He doesn't want to be like his demonic father (like Nightmare expects out of him) but has turned to wanting to get a degree in psychological counseling and has already started to counsel people as a part time job at his old summer camp he formerly went to when he was younger to pay for tuition

|Winston|

Winston has been plagued by this entity of terror ever since he was little. Nightmare loves to torment children with night terrors cause they are easier to scare, thus enabling him to gain easy power. But this young one was different. As Winston grew older, the dreamon discovered he was falling violently in love with the harpy prince to the point he was on the brink of madness. Nightmare decided to wait for Winston to come to him. The harpy went into the Dream Realm to finish it once and for all . After a long arduous fight, Winston used the Alantean Dreamwave to go into Nightmares' mind and discovered his past traumas. Winston and Nightmare became friends... It was a love-hate relationship at first, but Winston and Bucky Barns were causing mayham, and Nightmare stepped in to stop them. Bucky, being the scaredy cat he is abandoned Winston leaving him alone with Nightmare, who playfully told the harpy that if he was going to keep causing mayham, he would haunt his dreams for eternity Nightmare was only kidding and he grabbed the harpy giving him a noogie.Winston and Nightmares relationship at first was all sweet and such but then it got darker with Nightmare making Winston sign a binding contract making the harpy submit to the dreamon in mind body and soul. Nightmare is a no-nonsense, strict master to Winston and showed his dominance through vigorous punishments with whips and bedroom antics. Winston loves it when Night gets domineering, though

|Drinking The Kool-ad|

Winston and Matthew get captured by the Order of The Ancient Mysteries, which is the same cult that captured Winston's father Morpheus a long time ago. Why did they capture the harpy and the raven? Because they wanted Morpheus's power to summon Nightmare(for some reason) but Morpheus's power aura was about the same as Winston's since they are family and Morph imputed some of his own power into Winston so the harpy gives off the same arcane signature as Morpheus since Winston currently holds The Dreamstone and The Helm of The Oneiroi. So the cult accidently summoned Winston with Matthew in tow, but since they are dumbasses they thought that they summoned Morpheus, who took on a different form. So, of course, Winston decides to mess with them by being as annoying and obnoxious as possible, which Matthew did not think it was good idea. After days stuck in the magically sealed chamber with an hallucinogenic gas being emitted everywhere Winston finally was anble to telepathically call upon Bucky, Lucien and Delirium which Bucky and Delirum being the destructive forces they are don't let just a little magical seal break their spirit. Lucien was unable to unlock the Chambers sealing spell while Bucky and Delirium were able to destroy the rest, freeing the harpy and raven. Of course, a huge fight ensues with Winston wearing the helm of the Oneiroi, and since he was technically not endless, all bets are off on taking human life. Then, as things were looking up... the High Priest and Priestess said a spell that magically and physically locked the compound to where they couldn't escape....but did it say anything about locking out demonic forces? No.. of course, Nightmare came to the rescue scaring the living shit out of the by appearing in his primordial form . Winston was shocked at his lovers appearance. It was probably Morpheus who told him to come and save his son

☆Powers and Abilities☆

|Dreamweaver/Dream Manipulation|

A spell that enables the to traverse the Dream Realm / Dreamscape. It is used to communicate through dreams. You are able to manipulate people's dreams , dream hop , make people have nightmares, fight against nightmares, and forsee the future to an extent. The must combine this with astral projection, and they have a central dream hub that is customized to their liking, and other peoples dreams of their choosing are connected to it as well . Also, the or target must be asleep or put to sleep. He is able to eat dreams..

|Tribulations of Thanatos/Nightmare Manipulation|

The old patron of death and nightmares, when called upon, brings the feeling of terror to the victims of this spell. Able to be mixed with Delusia to create dreadful beings, scary sensations like falling, being unable to wake up, or being on the brink of madness but that is just the warping of the victims minds own images by the castor. He is able to imprison people into nightmares and feed on their fears

|Mindfulness of Mnemosyne|

Calling upon the Greek titan of memory and the mother of the Muses enables the to bring back memories or to erase memories. The most you can bring back if someone has non permanent amnesia or memory loss is up to three months but if it's permanent amnesia the spell will max out at 4 years but the power of the spell mostly depends on how much memory was lost. He is able to go into the past memories of a person using objects like souls and hair. Objects are an archive of memories of the person. Their soul is especially powerful since it is with them in the dream realm and holds a wealth of information about the person even if they are deceased

|Nightmare Manifestation|

He is nightmares personified, so of course, he gets the ability to control said concept . His true form is a shadowy form made of pure nightmare energy and if his physical form takes alot of damage it goes away and he has to wait for up to an hour for it to regenerate but he can sometimes accelerate it if he has eaten alot of fear. Also, if someone walks through the misty shade, they walk out beyond terrified

|Shapeshifting|

He is able to shapeshift his form along with being able to change genders . He usually turns into his victims worst fear, a cloud of black smoke for quick transportation and a woman cause why not . He shapeshifts into a very pale gothic human with long hair when he is in the overworld. He mostly appears physically in the overworld in the daytime or midnight (to hang out with Winston) when people are awaking from their slumbers . Nightmare is nocturnal mostly, but if he's bored or lonely, he sends one of his monsters to terrorize peoples slumbers while he goes to hang out with his "Weelikes to call Winston .

|Eldritch Physiology|

His true form is a shadowy Eldritch being made of the collective fears and traumas of mortals

|Astral projection|

Nightmare is able to astral project, but unlike Stephen or Winston, he is able to capture and trap the astral form for further torment using a magical chain made of shadows. He spooks people on Halloween, making them think he is a spirit bent on vengeance, but his astral form is able to travel between the physical realm and the dream realm if its day time.

|Illusion Generation(main) or Delusia Novos|

This is the main spell that is used when traveling down the Path of Delusia. It is used to generate different illusions or hallucinations like auditory, visual, and olfactory. Again, it does not break the laws of reality since it uses illusionary energy to manifest into semi-corporeal form. The Illusions are able to be manipulated or combined with other spells for different effects. Ie: Dupication(Duplex) spell combined with this makes Images of Ikonn, which I will be going over in a bit. Is Self perceptive , Selective, and Universal

|Conjuring|

Able to conjure an object to you from anywhere, i.e., teleporting a bowl of soup from home to you in the park. You can't materialize new objects from thin air . The objects have to already exist for this spell to work . You can multiply and clone objects, but there needs to be a base object to clone from. Unless you are Nightmare and can conjure up anything from nowhere when he is in the Dream Realm

|Summoning|

He is able to summon weapons , his horse Dreamstalker, and monsters formed by the energy he collects that emits children and adults when they are tormented by nightmares. Nightmare is the only one who can see this energy.

|Shadow Manipulation|

He is able to hide in peoples shadows and possess the shadows to scare people for his own amusment. He can create humanoid beings made out of shadows (shadow people that haunt peoples minds in the dark. ) or shadowy animals. He can turn himself into a shadow to blend in the over world. Nightmare loves messing with childrens shadow puppets, but it's usually harmless fun, and older children enjoy the show usually. Also, shadowy dark tentacles or hands can come out of his back.

|Emotion/Fear Eating|

Since he is the embodiment of fear itself, he can induce fear in mortals by shapeshifting into their worst fear. He then feeds on negative emotions and peoples fears, making them weaker and him stronger.

|Fear Manipulation|

He can sense fear energy emanating from mortals and manipulate it to his will by various means like shapeshifting and nightmares. He can induce fear or make someone go insane if he wants

|Possession|

Nightmare is able to possess people like the classic demon...but when he possesses a mage or mystic that person becomes infused with Nightmares demon magic turning them into a demonic figure...and he can't possess those who are undead or not have a living body . he is attracted to those who have many negative emotions and fear

|Fire manipulation|

Enables the to control fire to give off heat or light or for offensive. This type of magic depends on the s emotional state (the stronger emotions the is feeling, the stronger and hotter the fire), the fire changes colors as well depending on temperature. Can't be used underwater and ice and cold negates this. If you are not disciplined, you will easily lose control and hurt yourself or others with the burning infernos. He usually breathes fire for theatrics . Sometimes (he can't help it) when he gets gassy, he belchs out fire.

|Smoke Manipulation|

He can also manipulate smoke as well from his cigarettes and change the color of it as well....also his smoke can have sleep inducing properties

|Eclipse of Erebus/Darkness manipulation|

Calling upon the primordial Greek deity of darkness that was one out of many born from Chaos Erebus. With this spell, you call upon the primordial essence of darkness to swallow the light. So, says the ancient texts. You are able to create blobs of Umbra magic , beams, or radiate darkness as a shield. It revels secrets hidden in light since before light was darkness. You are able to form and shape the Umbra energy into weapons and creatures. Can be used to absorb light and convert it to Umbra magic. Works best at night. And the power peaks at eclipses . Umbra is different from dark dimension magic in that it doesn't corrupt the if control gets out of their grip or stain them . Umbra, along with use in combat, reveals secrets hidden away, and some arcane doors or mechanisms need Umbra magic to activate or unlock them. It's not shadow magic that needs to utilize light to activate its full potential.

|Cloaking|

The is able to hide themselves using the velvety cloak of Umbra. But they need outside shadows or dark places to work at their full potential. If done in light, the is cloaked in a deep purple energy. That is the pure form of Umbra magic . You can also use this to hide in people's shadows

|Oneiriotence|

Being the Lord of Dreams and Nightmares enables him while he is in the Dream Dimension, which is able to have infinite power and knowledge of what goes on in his kingdom and who arrives and leaves.

|Immortality|

Is immune to death by aging and diseases. Cannot be destroyed because he will always come back due to humans always dreaming

|Hyper Flexibility|

Nightmare has the ability to run on all fours cause his collarbone(or clavicle) is flexible along with his shoulders , spine, and kneecaps. Nightmare is able to rotate his head backward and upside down with a creepy neck cracking noise for spooky effect. He is also able to bend backward completely since his spine is very flexible and is triple ted in his fingers, and he usually is in a crouched position ready to pounce on unsuspecting prey

|Dreamon Physiology|

As a dream demon, Nightmare is pretty strong but not superhuman. He has a long, pointy tongue and sharp teeth. He can run really fast and is very agile. Nightmare can eat anything basically with no major repercussions... from mortal food to fear (or pillows!) He is an omnivore but leans towards meat . The demon's pupils are cat like slits that enable him to see in the dark and are reflective and when he is beyond pissed his voice goes to a low guttural growl and his eyes turn bright red as his demon instincts take over. When he is using his powers, his eyes turn yellowy orange. He has claws on his hands and feet. He acts all tough but is just a big demonic puppy or cat who is curious about everything in the mortal world. He hisses a lot and the DROOL!!! OH MY THE DROOL!!! He gives kisses and shows affection by licking the unlucky person, leaving them covered in slobber . His bite strength is 3 times more powerful than a Rottweiler, so once he bites down on your arm, yeah, you might need to invest in a bionic arm. His sense of smell is very keen as well

☆Personality☆

A rebellious mischievous soul Nightmare feels great zeal in watching the masses succumb to his nocturnal pranks. A jerkish troll, he lothes tight, strict rules and limits (unless it's him making the rules). He can be course in his language but he is Nightmare so who gives a f. He is loyal to who he calls "friends," but that doesn't exclude them from his shenanigans . Nightmare is an asshole put simply, but if he was destroyed, the fabric of reality breaks as well . This importance shows in arrogance and flashyness contrasting to the subdued Winston Strange who is not his arch nemesis per se but more like a frienemy...(and now Boyfriend!)) . Winston and Nightmare like to mess with each other and other people in the Dream Dimension or Dream Realm as Winston puts it. Teenagers enjoy his shenanigans, and he sometimes even helps them with their pranks. For a price of a couple of limes set out in a dark corner. But this is mostly just an act. Nightmare is normally refined and talks like he is stuck in the 1800's (Still an arrogant and mischievous prick though) but since it is the modern times where people talk with more slang (vulgar words especially) and are rather promiscuous , the Lord of Dreams thinks that's how he has to act. Nightmare is a hopeless romantic to the point he goes crazy stalker when it comes to his crushes. Nightmare has been around since the beginning of life, and it was great until the 90s and 2000s where he saw (in his opinion) a huge drop in the quality of mortal life. He is a primadonna who breaks down when things don't go his way. Nightmare can get overprotective (especially with his kids and lover)and wears his heart on his sleeve. He can act like a big puppy and is always curious about new things . Nightmare .....takes his relationships very seriously and goes full "gonna kill your new lover" mode if he is broken up with....yeah. But he is a king and gets very domineering . Nightmare makes you know he is the boss and would never submit to anyone other than Morpheus.

Fearless beings or insomniacs are his major weakness, but bright lights and T H E S P R A Y B O T T L E keeps him in line. Nightmare and his army of Dreamons are not really affected by holy items like crucifixes or holy books as much as Hell-Demons, but holy water will send them scurrying to the hills. If he is exposed to objects or beings with extremely high levels of holiness he will get severely sick and can't really use his powers well if that happens ....also burning herbs like rosemary and sage help ...you can also blow the ashs on him and he would nope out. Nightmare can't be actually fully destroyed . But his physical body is actually made up of shadows and nightmare energy so he can just regenerate but it might take a while depending on how injured he is which while he is regenerating it can leave him open to further attack leaving him to turn tail and run. When he is in the overworld, his powers are nerfed by 50%

☆Relationships☆

|Winston |

Winston and Nightmares' relationship is a love-hate one where they mess around with each other. ‎‏ Winston and Nightmare semi parallel each other, and since Winston brings good dreams , Nightmare brings bad dreams. Winston is worried about turning into a fiend like Nightmare. But Nightmare exists when there are beings that dream . He brings the bad, and without the bad, you can not have the good . There is such a thing in Jungian psychology called the Shadow, which is the dark subconscious desires that take the form of beasts and shadowy spirits in your dreams. Nightmare loosly symbolizes Winston's own fears and Shadow. Winston is shackled to Nightmare, i.e., shackled to his own fears. And if you don't acknowledge your dark side and face your fears in the eye, you won't grow as a person. Also, the demon loves his Weezy very much . Their relationship is kinda dysfunctional, with Night clearly giving the orders and Winston rebelling against said orders, making Nightmare upset. Also, if you touch Winston, expect to deal with an overprotective demon.

|The Fearlords |

The Fearlords are like a family to Nightmare...an obnoxiously annoying family who tease each other and pull pranks ....well everyone except Nox and Dweller in Darkness...Nightmare usually is not a team player and mostly nocturnal so he's usually absent during their meetings.

|Nox|

Nightmare tried to get with Nox after hearing her sing but utterly failed after being beat back by Nox and her sons. Nox is wary of Nightmare cause he used to have a reputation(not much now that he has the bird), so she is never usually alone in the same room as him. Nightmare being a groady dreamon and her a beautiful goddess doesn't click well in her mind, so she also thinks Nightmare is delusional for even conceiving that he has a chance with her.

|D'spayre|

D'spayre and Night don't get along all the time. They are always at eachothers throats, which if you put them in a room together, they will usually try to outdo each other on the fear eating and power. It also can end with Nightmare ed out on the floor in a drunken stupor

|His bandmates|

Nightmare and his bandmates have a good relationship with Night being the "team dad," meaning he acts like a parent to the others. His band likes teasing each other and horsing around, so it's up to Nightmare to keep them in line so they can rock the world

|Trauma|

Nightmare's son, who was born through a human proxy Trauma and Night, is on good but is kinda strained since the demon was never around to raise or spend time with trauma. (Hell for the longest time he forgot he had a son) They recently reunited, and they keep in touch through letters

|Dreamqueen|

Night's daughter, who the dreamon will protect at all costs like any father does for their daughter. Their relationship was a bit rocky when she was growing up, but Night is trying to make up for it. He is overprotective of her and will kill you if you wrong her.

|Epiales|

Nightmares father sees him as the son who is a disappointment for turning to the so-called "dark" side in his eyes(working for Morpheus) . Epiales looks down at his son, thinking he is inferior to him. When Young Prince Nightmare was created, his father had high expectations, and the King of Nightmares did not know how to be a father at all, being manipulative and distant to his heir.

|Blade|

Nightmares former lover and now mentor... Blade is very special to the demon since without the vampire hunters help ...Nightmare would still be roaming around eating people.... Nightmare trusts only two people:Blade and Winston and Night comes to Blade for advice on dealing with emotions, mortals, and relationships...or for comfort

|Morpheus|

The only being above Nightmare in the realm of sleep. Morpheus keeps the dreamon in line with an iron fist. Morpheus is the only thing that Nightmare is truly terrified of . Morpheus tolerates his son dating the dreamon

|Mephisto|

Nightmare's former crush . Mephisto thinks Nightmare is hilarious for trying to flirt with him even though Mephisto is way out of the dreamons league. Mephisto doesn't like it when Nightmare calls him Muffy, though . Unrequited love is the name of the game with these two

|Asmodeus|

They used to date way back. Asmodeus was submissive to Nightmare, which gave the dreamon power. But after a messy break up, they parted ways until recently. Nightmare is jealous of how successful and well loved Asmodeus is amongst the demons. Even Winston almost fell for him, which soured Asmos and Nightmares' relationship further. Nightmare didn't like how ive aggressively Asmodeus roasted Winston and him, so they got into a demon fight with Winston trying to break it apart.

A Falchion (a French medieval sword) that   enables Nightmare when he does harm or kills a being in a dream with this sword ... he harms or kills them in the waking world. Nightmare rarely uses this cause he finds it boring to harm or kill people physically when he could be tormenting them and feeding on their fear. But that doesn't stop Nightmare (only when he's starving) from eating other people and demons...

An Eastern weapon consists of a sickle on a shadow chain with a heavy iron weight at the end. It is used to entangle an opponents body or weapon.

A black and silver python patterned Lindworm that Nightmare got when he was a teenager. He wears her around his shoulders to shock people. She has a venom potent enough to knock out an elephant in minutes. Winston likes poking her snoot but the Hazard Noodle doesn't mind

A demonic looking dog that Nightmare got cause he was lonely...despite his freaky appearence he is actually quite friendly...like a Labrador or Great Pyrenees but he is protective over the people he loves or knows like Night, his kids and Winston

Shadows swirled around Nightmare as any light source in the vicinity was extinguished. Visions of your worst fears appeared but they were distorted by Nightmares devious hand" then the figures loomed over your body contorting as their head turned backwards crying blood. "Whats the matter? NEVER FACED YOUR FEARS?" It said in a French accented voice as insects crawled out of its mouth and it's red eyes started oozing black liquid as it started growing into a large shadowy figure that looked like it came from Hp Lovecrafts mind. Its shadowy body dripped inky black substance like blood, and it had hissing writhing snakes for hair along with sorta lion esque mane surrounding its multiple faces, which roared out bloodlust and death. Its ribs were sticking out like a giant spiders legs that it can use to walk on, and it had multiple shadowy arms and tentacles coming out of its contorted back with its spine now like quills. Sharp gnashing teeth with serrated edges glistened in the now dimly lit space with a long drooly tongue lolling out like a dog and glowing red eyes stared at you. Well, multiple eyes since multiple heads like an unholy cherub made of your worst nightmares. If you walked through him, you would go insane from fright or drop dead from traumatizing memories witheld in his grotesquely beastly body.
