Sabrina Raincomprix.

Her classmates know her as Chloe Bourgeois' ‘personal servant’. At least, that’s what most referred to her as due to her being following the blonde’s every command- no questions asked. However, she saw it differently herself; more specifically, Sabrina viewed herself as Chloe’s best friend. She was one of the only individuals that the rich girl trusted, that’s why she obeyed her.

No matter how twisted and invalid that logic may have sounded to an outsider, it made perfect sense to the red-haired girl. No one else knows why her thought process is in this state, and no one might ever fully understand why. But they definitely cared for each other… in their own ways. Ways general people can’t necessarily wrap their brains around.

February 14th, usually a day where Chloe needed her friend the most. It was their own little ‘tradition’, if you will, to spend the majority of the day together. Her best friend was always kind enough to let her her in the luxury of Le Grande Paris. After all, it ‘is’ the best hotel in all of Paris. How considerate of Chloe.

However, today was different. The Bourgeois was in New York City today, something about modelling for her mother’s company- a new fashion line, maybe? She didn’t know the particulars, just what she had been told. But what was obvious is that she was left alone… It felt more like a ‘Reverse Valentines Day’ if anything.

Sabrina was sitting at her desk, she tapped her unmanicured nails on the wooden painted surface, she gazed at her reflection for what felt like an eternity. Inevitably, she quietly sighed to herself before placing her forehead on the desk. “...” Okay, this was stupid. The teen rose from her stool and pushed it underneath her desk, she walked over to her window.

The Raincomprix just glanced down and looked at the streets for a short while, seeing all the couples, friendship groups, and families, just made her feel even more alone. Her father was working all day so she couldn’t even spend any bonding time with him. She adjusted her glasses before pulling her phone out of her pocket, Sabrina unlocked it and instantaneously opened Instagram.

She scrolled on her feed for a minute or so before seeing an ment, ‘Treat yourself’. Her eyebrows raised for a few moments as she checked out the original post, sure she’d heard the phrase before- but this looked like an event? No, it was just a list; a list of things you could do, ‘Know your Self-Worth’. Hm, perhaps she could try out some of these activities.

Regardless, Sabrina hadn’t had a day free from continuous tasks in quite a long time. Maybe this was fate; the small break she needed just to treat herself. Yeah, that actually sounded like a pretty nice idea when she thought about it. It would hurt to try something new out, something that sparked an interest in her.

Some Coffee Shop

The red-head was sat on a medium-sized, circle-shaped table with an overcomplicated frappe drink in front of her. She thought to herself for a couple of moments before she inevitably grabbed the drink, she took a small sip of it. Hm, it wasn’t too bad. It was a new ‘Valentine’s Inspired’ frappe, strawberry was definitely a prominent flavour. It wasn’t something that she’d have on a regular basis, but it wasn’t necessarily horrible- it was kinda nice.

Sabrina looked down at her phone as she took occasional sips from her frappe, she returned to that ‘Treat Yourself’ post. Her sea-green eyes scanned the list provided in the post, up and down a couple of times. Hm, she couldn’t decide on what to do next… There were so many options to choose from, surely whoever was planning on completing all these tasks would have needed to start at 5 am- or another ridiculously early time.

She tapped her painted nail on her phone screen as she took a large sip of her frappe, she quietly hummed to herself as she glanced around the coffee shop. There were a lot of couples around her, but if you looked close enough you could see people. People like her; who were alone, yet happy.

That put a small smile on her face, even if it was only just for a moment. Sabrina brought her attention back to her phone screen, her eyes lit up for a moment. Was that option always there before? That didn’t matter, she was finally going to do something that’s been on her bucket list for a long time. Something that Chloe would never approve of, but today ‘is’ the day to treat herself…

The red-haired girl stood up from her chair, she brought the almost empty cup with her as she slid her phone back into her jacket pocket. She walked over to the exit of the establishment, giving the worker a quick thank you. She walked out of the building, and she threw the practically empty cup in the trash.

Sabrina began to walk down the street, she ended up quietly humming to herself after a handful of silent seconds. She took her phone out of her pocket and brought up Google Maps, just to make sure that she’d get where she wanted to be. The teen planned a route that caused a subtle smile to appear on her face, momentarily.

Her boots made a quiet yet audible noise every time she took a step, she bit the inside of her gum for a moment. Oh look at that, just one more corner to go; she should do this more often it was pretty fun. Sure, it may not seem like much but Sabrina enjoyed her own company as much as any normal introvert. But it was nice to just wind down and have some time to herself.

Before she knew it, she was already there.
