Genre; Angst
Word Count; 1,018
Her cobalt blue eyes stared at the purple carpet, a similar enough shade that complimented the frame of her bed- that’s where she was sat with her legs crossed. Usually, she despised silence. Actually, the teen had always done her best to avoid silence… but she couldn’t deal with anything other than that right now.
The butler adjusted his velvet tailcoat before he took a deep breath. “You’re sad, Miss Bourgeious… Is there anything I can do for you?” He asked, half expecting for her to snap at him or at least raise her voice. Bourgeois’ tend to have short tempers, he knows about that a bit too well.
“Did you know?” Chloe bluntly asked before she finally averted her eyes away from her floor, she was actually doing a pretty good job at not getting emotional- well, hiding what she was feeling probable wasn’t healthy either but let’s not talk about that. “Answer faster, Butler Jean-” She blatantly ordered as she rolled her eyes, she wasn’t necessarily annoyed.
He couldn’t help but let out a small sigh, the tall man hesitated for just a moment before he took one step closer to the blonde. “No, I didn’t. I’m sorry you had to find something like this out in such a sudden circumstance.” A hint of sympathy in his voice, although he really did feel terrible for the blonde.
Le Grande Paris, 2011
The petite girl smoothed out the invisible creases in her pastel yellow dress, she stuck her tongue out for a moment before she adjusted her high ponytail. “Where’s mommy- you said she’d have presents for me.” The mini diva asked before she gave the hotel employee a grin, she wasn’t being rude- no, not at all.
His expression softened for a second, he couldn’t stay mad at a six-year-old- she didn’t know any better. “Apologies, I don’t know- but you’re Father-” Chloe jumped up before she shrieked for just a few seconds, she crossed her arms. “No. I want my mommy-! I’ll prove you wrong, and go find her- like, right now.” She stated in almost a demanding tone before she marched straight out of her bedroom.
The girl ran straight for the stairs, she ran down every single floor of stairs before she finally made it to the ground floor- how this child had so much energy is honestly a mystery. Her bright blue eyes darted around the hotel lobby until her gaze finally landed on Audrey Bourgeois. “Mommy-!” Mini Chloe shouted out as she ran towards the entrance doors.
However, a hotel employee stepped in front of her which blocked her path. “Wh- What are you doing?” The girl scolded whilst she crossed her arms, being the mini diva that she would (hopefully) grow out of. “I’m sorry, Miss Bourgeious. Your Father has requested your presence, he has some presents-”
The employee glanced down at the blonde, a somewhat sympathetic expression on their face. Of course, Chloe didn’t pick up on that- she was a child after all. “No- I want my mom.” She scoffed before she turned her head to the side, the child attempted to peek around to see Audrey. Maybe get her attention somehow?
And what could she see-? Well, her mother… getting into a limousine and simply driving away. The blonde placed a hand on the glass as she attempted to understand. Why did she have so many bags? Was she going on a trip without her- “When’s she coming home?”
Le Grande Paris, Present Day
“It’s fine… None of this is your fault. I just- didn’t expect this. You know?” Present-day, Chloe almost choked up on her own words while she wrapped her arms around herself; some weird way to try and comfort herself, maybe? Her butler gave the teen a soft smile, whether it was forced or not is irrelevant. “I know it’s hard.” No, he didn’t know.
He had to think about his words, how to word this without accidentally harming her. “It probably feels impossible, like you’re going to feel this way forever? But, I can promise you that it will … and I’m sure you sister-” Honestly, this was going well; almost a bit too well. So, it made sense for him to be interrupted eventually.
“Don’t call her that.” She bluntly ordered before she brought her knees to her chest, and she then wrapped her arms around her legs; just sad girl vibes. “Just go. I don’t want to hear it, I want to be left alone-” Chloe muttered before she buried her face in her knees, then silence.
The butler just slowly nodded even if she couldn’t see, he hesitated for just a moment before he proceeded to leave the room. Confirmation that he had officially left was when she heard the door being opened and closed.
Le Grande Paris, Present Day
The two of them were just sat in silence at the table, Audrey and Andre were meant to be here in… five minutes? So that left the two half-sisters alone, neither of them spoke up. At least, not for a minute. “Chloe… I know you really don’t like me but-”
“How long are you going to keep this, ‘nice act’ up for.” The Bourgeois had her arms crossed on the table in front of her as she glared at Zoe. “Excuse me-?” She was confused by her question, but despite everything, she didn’t want to be rude. After all, it wasn’t any of their faults. Blame Audrey if anyone.
Chloe glanced away from the other girl before she inevitably sighed. “Just drop it, Zoe. You aren’t my sister, and you never will be. So just stop trying.” She blatantly explained before she adjusted her ponytail. She clearly had no interest to continue this conversation.
“Oh… of course, sorry Chloe.” She mumbled before she just shut up, maybe it just needed time? This all happened suddenly, especially for the Bourgeious. Zoe’s eyes flickered between looking straight down at the table and the floor, she tapped her foot against the hard floor every so often.
thank you so much for reading! :sparkling_heart:

That’s a coincidence because Zoe will never be Chloe’s ‘sister’ to me either. Just a bad writing decision gone wrong. :satisfied:
