With my magic yo-yo, I can conjure up an item that’ll help me. I just have to say Lucky Charm! Each time, something weird appears, and I have to understand how to use it.

MARINETTE

Lucky Charm is the special superpower granted by the Ladybug Miraculous to its owner.

Description

This superpower allows the to create a helpful object. It is activated by the speaking its name.

Miraculous owner

Lucky Charm 06

Ladybug calls on her Lucky Charm.

The Ladybug Miraculous owner tosses the yo-yo into the air. A bright energy of magical ladybugs shines out from the yo-yo and spirals outward before spiraling back inward to a single point, resulting in the creation of an object. Notably, the object will almost always be red with black polka-dots. In “Optigami”, it revealed that the doesn’t always have to spin the yo-yo but they would still need to be holding it. As seen in “Miraculous Paris” and “Re-creation”, when a holder has their adult powers, they have access to use Lucky Charm multiple times but only one object can exist so the current one has to disappear, the original object transforms back into creative energy, the holder can turn it into a new object by manipulating the creative energy of the original or they can simply use the yo-yo, the holder can also erase their Lucky Charm with a snap of their fingers or by doing nothing at all. Additionally, due to the timer no longer being in effect when the holder has their adult powers, the object created by Lucky Charm can last longer than one created by an underage holder, as it would disappear upon their automatic detransformation. Unless they detransform willingly, of course.

The created object could be just about anything, depending on the situation; from a dining utensil, to a household product or appliance, to a food product, or a mechanized object, an article clothing, a musical instrument, or even vehicles or futuristic weapons. However, the Lucky Charm doesn’t just give the the object they desire, instead it creates the perfect object to solve the current situation, though it is up to the Miraculous owner to figure out how to utilize it.

Notably, an object that requires a power supply, like a vehicle needing a full tank of gas or an electrical appliance needing batteries, will function as if it comes with an energy source upon its creation, as seen with the car that Ladybug drove in “Glaciator 2” and the metal detector that she used in “Feast”. Interestingly, in “Miraculer”, the titular villain created a hair dryer and used it without a cord, while Ladybug created a cordless vacuum cleaner in “Silencer”. Cordless variants of these appliances do exist, so it’s unknown what would happen if the created an object that did have a cord and plug.

Defeating The Bubbler - Part 2

Ladybug figuring out what to do with her Lucky Charm.

Once they have the object, the Ladybug Miraculous owner observes the area around them, seeing what they have to work with in their surroundings, and makes a plan for how to use the object to achieve their goal. That or the Lucky Charm gives them a clue about what they need to do or where they need to go in order to achieve their goal. According to Master Fu in “Malediktator”, the Lucky Charm never fails.

Interestingly, the doesn’t always find a use for their Lucky Charm right away. In some cases, the object isn’t meant to be used until later. An example of this was the Ice Axe that Ladybug created in “Guiltrip”.

It is revealed in “Reflekdoll” that Lucky Charm creates an object in accordance with the Ladybug Miraculous owners creativity and ability to come up with a plan. Marinette, who is good at coming up with complicated plans, always gets an object that allows her to successfully carry out a complicated and usually completely absurd plan. Adrien on the other hand is less of a planner and more action-focused, so the Lucky Charm gave him an object to achieve a simple action for a simple solution. Personality plays a roll as well, Shadybug, who was consumed by suffering and anger, used her Lucky Charm to create weapons to directly attack her enemies. Ladybug on the other hand, who prefers to settle things without anyone getting hurt, would also create weapons sometimes, but they were never intended for direct combat. Instead, she would use them to play a trick or set a trap, however in “Re-creation”, she would use other objects for direct combat, like a piano for crushing or a baking peel as a staff.

According to Marinette in “New Powers”, she was always confused about what to do with it, but said “I’ve learned how to control it since then” suggesting that the can conjure the perfect object through willpower. This was seen in “Kwamibuster”, when she used the power to create a bowl to trap the akuma as part of her plan to trick Cat Noir into thinking that she isn’t a student of Françoise Dupont, and in “Destruction”, when she created a long plastic tube, which she used to tie up Monarch after he walked into her trap.

Miraculous Ladybug

Lucky mayura

The Miraculous Ladybug in “Mayura”.

After the crisis is resolved, the Miraculous owner is able to utilize the Lucky Charm for the Miraculous Ladybug,[1] in which they throw the Lucky Charm object into the air, and it transforms into a swarm of magic ladybugs that spread out in all directions and fix all the damage done since the crisis began.

The Lucky Charm, and by extension the Miraculous Ladybug, only gives a specific item for a specific crisis. In “Miraculous New York”, while Ladybug and Cat Noir were fighting Techlonizer in New York City, Mayura created a Robostus Sentimonster that attacked Paris. When both villains were stopped, Ladybug was able to repair the damage in New York, but not the damage in Paris. It’s likely that for an adult holder this wouldn’t be much of a problem because they can simply create another Lucky Charm item to fix the secondary crisis and therefore use the Miraculous Ladybug to fix everything there.

In “Re-creation”, it is shown that if the Ladybug Miraculous holder can dismiss their Lucky Charm object from existence without calling on the Miraculous Ladybug. However, this has only been seen done by a holder who had already obtained her adult powers and is able to use Lucky Charm as many times as she wants.

Tikki

Tikki’s lucky charm 2

As shown in “Deflagration”, when Lucky Charm is used directly by Tikki, it does create a seemingly random object that is the key to solving whatever problematic situation Tikki finds herself in. However, it also causes multiple tall buildings and other large structures to be continuously created in rapid succession over a very wide area. Notably, these structures had ordinary color, not red with black spots. After the object’s creation, she entrusted it to the universe and let luck do the rest. She had no idea what happened to it or where it went, only that it was exactly where it was supposed to be. Ultimately, it did prove to be the key to her situation being resolved.

Whenever Tikki uses her Lucky Charm, she is surrounded by a creative energy aura that is then turned into a tornado of creative energy, while a winged humanoid manifestation is formed above her. All that is then turned into a concentrated beam aimed upward that starts to create the Lucky Charm.

Tikki’s lucky charm

As shown in “Dearest Family”, Tikki can use her power another way; when her sweet tooth is out of control and the problem she faces is her own hunger, she can create an incredibly gigantic version of whatever snack she craves. The object in question would be large enough to block out the sun and disrupt the balance of gravity, potentially causing damage to nearby structures. When humanity first discovered chocolate, she made it rain chocolate mousse for eight weeks.

What is also interesting is that Tikki may be able to influence what objects can appear during certain situations, from past events or memories such as with “Simon Says”, “Mayura”, “Hack-San”, “Revelation” and “Collusion

It’s beautiful... and amazing... It’s... Miraculous!

LADYBUG

The Miraculous Ladybug is the secondary special superpower of the Ladybug Miraculous.

Description

This superpower allows the to fix all the damaged caused by a specific villain or crisis. It is activated by the speaking “Miraculous”, followed by their superhero name.

Miraculous owner

Stormy Weather - Miraculous Ladybug

The Miraculous Ladybug in “Stormy Weather”.

After the crisis has been resolved, the Ladybug Miraculous owner throws the Lucky Charm object they previously created into the air and yells “Miraculous” followed by their superhero name. The Lucky Charm explodes into creative energy that transforms into a massive swarm of magic ladybugs that fly around the damaged area and fix any and all damage done since the crisis began. This includes:

Healing those who were hurt.

Fixing broken items whose destruction is what caused the crisis in the first place.

Undoing the effects of what the villain has done.

Any damage caused by the heroes themselves.

Returning displaced people to where they are supposed to be.

Returning displaced celestial bodies back to their proper orbit.

Undoing the effects of the strain young holders have suffered if they’ve used their Miraculouses for evil.[1]

It is even capable of repairing anomalies in the space-time continuum, such as by combining past and future selves back into a single being.

Besides fixing the damage of the past, with the help of Rabbit Miraculous superpower, Burrow, the magic ladybugs can travel through time and fix the damage done in the future, as seen in “Cat Blanc”.

While using Lucky Charm causes her to start losing power, using Miraculous Ladybug does not, it being an optional power she can use before she detransforms.

DC S01EP10 (535)

Chloé’s poster still vandalized even after the magic ladybugs fix everything.

Interestingly, it seems that the magic ladybugs don’t affect anything that the Ladybug Miraculous holder sees as not being a bad thing. In “Dark Cupid”, when the Miraculous Ladybug was used, it did not restore Chloé’s autographed poster of Adrien after Sabrina, who had been turned hateful by the titular villains power, had drawn graffiti all over it. The same thing happened in “Darkblade”, the magic ladybugs did not clear away the furniture that had been used to block the door, which allowed Marinette to prove to herself that she was capable of being both a hero and a leader.

Additionally, the Lucky Charm object doesn’t have to be completely intact or need all the pieces for the Miraculous Ladybug to work, a small fragment of the Lucky Charm is enough, as seen in “Robostus”, “Sapotis”, “Sandboy”, “Weredad”, “Queen Banana”, “Derision”, “Protection” and “Adoration”.

Tikki

It is unknown if Tikki can use this power. Assuming she can, Tikki’s version of the Miraculous Ladybug would most likely be far stronger than normal to the point of causing a magical disaster, same as all the other kwamis versions of their Miraculous superpowers.

As seen in “Deflagration”, the holder can be the one to call on the Miraculous Ladybug, even if Tikki was the one to create the Lucky Charm

No more evildoing for you, little akuma/megakuma. Time to de-evilize!

LADYBUG

De-evilization is a secondary special superpower of the Ladybug Miraculous.

Description

This superpower allows the to purify anything “corrupt or malignant”.[1]

The Ladybug Miraculous owner first swipes their finger across the Yo-yo, causing it to open. The then swings the Yo-yo, capturing the target as it goes, trapping the infection and curing the target once it’s inside it.

The Miraculous owner then pulls back and catches the Yo-yo. After catching it, the Miraculous owner opens the Yo-yo to release the target they captured, now purified.

The Miraculous owner can use this purification power on various things, such as akumas created through the power of the Butterfly Miraculous, or amoks created through the power of the Peacock Miraculous, as well as on other animals or objects that are corrupted, infected, or dirty in some way, leaving them healed and clean. But it’s unknown if the power can be used to heal Kamikos due to their benevolent nature.

It can also be used to clean an unknown black substance, as seen in fourth issue of Miraculous Adventures.

The Yo-yo is able contain things larger than the Yo-yo itself, and it can hold more than one object at once, from a stuffed animal to a huge swarm of akumas.

“Mr. Pigeon 72” “Action”

This is a Magical Charm. As long as you carry it with you, you can’t get akumatized again.

LADYBUG TO HARRY CLOWN

The Magical Charms are a set of anti-akumatization charms created by the current Ladybug Miraculous holder: Ladybug with the leftover magic from the akumas she purifies. Their purpose is to prevent future akumatizations of previously transformed victims.

Appearance

The Magical Charms are small, round, and modeled after a ladybug’s shell with a string attached to the top. Each individual charm is unique, taking on the coloration and designs of their recipient’s akumatized form. The string can be extended to an unknown length, allowing the charm to be worn as a necklace or tied to clothing.

Creation

Once the holder of the Ladybug Miraculous captures and purifies an Akuma, its essence can be converted into a Magical Charm. The object is taken out of the holder’s yo-yo and given to the previously akumatized recipient. The Akuma essence is essential for the creation of a Charm; it cannot be made without it.[1] Additionally, multiple Charms can be created from the essence of a single Akuma — their amount depends on how many people were transformed into supervillains in a single akumatization.

Abilities

Magical Charm blocking an Akuma

A Magical Charm prevents an Akuma from re-akumatizing its wearer.

When worn, the Magical Charms prevents the Butterfly Miraculous holder from akumatizing a person again. The Butterfly Miraculous wielder can still sense the negative emotions of a person in possession of a Charm, as well as send Akumas to them. However, once the Akuma gets close to an object it wants to infect, a transluscent pink force field will manifest around it, blocking the butterfly. This field will also purify it.[2]

Magical charm Shield purifies an akuma

A Magical Charm transforms into a shield and purifies a Megakuma.

A new ability of the Magical Charms is unveiled in “Confrontation”. The Magical Charms react to emotions — they start glowing once their owner feels empowered by emotional strength from others and lose power if their mood worsens. Once the person with the Charm gains enough positivity, the object expands into a large shield, one capable of purifying and warding away Megakumas upon . After purifying the Megakuma, the Magical Charm shield will revert back to its original form
