#mymotorsportsfavorites

This is my take at my favorite drivers for F1, NASCAR, and IndyCar, in honor of the Monaco GP, Indy 500, and Coca-Cola 600 all this weekend.

Formula 1 Favorite

I haven't been much of a Formula 1 fan as much as NASCAR but I still watched it every time it was on. When I did start to watch F1 alongside NASCAR, one driver caught my attention, Valtteri Bottas. Valtteri Bottas, driving for Mercedes at time of watch, to me just seemed like a team player and overall a good guy. He has a total of 10 victories and 67 podiums all time from Williams, to Mercedes, to now at Alfa Romeo. Yeah he may not have won as much as Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen, but I am more fans of the underdogs of the teams, especially since he pushes to keep the constructors championship for 2021 and the unfortunate driver championship for Lewis. Also he's just a funny guy with a funny name.

IndyCar Favorites

Once again, IndyCar is not my first choice when it comes to motorsports, but i did start watching IndyCar a few years before I did Formula 1. For IndyCar I actually have 3 favorite drivers, the first one being Colton Herta, driver of the 26. If you know me well, you'd know that my racing number and my favorite number is 26, so that's kind of what got me started into liking him, after that I took more note on how he raced and God he's just so good. He's the youngest driver to win an IndyCar race, he won at COTA at the age of 18 in 2019. 3 full seasons lead him to have 6 wins in total, which is really a great start for such a young driver. Take note that what Colton did at the Indy GMR GP, he can drift too, in an IndyCar, that's how good he is.

My second favorite driver in IndyCar is Helio Castroneves, also known as Spider-Man. The Brazilian driver has won 4 Indy 500 races and is looking for his fifth this weekend. He may not have a championship, but what he does have is 25 race wins, and is 13th on IndyCar's all time list of drivers.

My final favorite Indy driver is none other than JIMMAY Johnson, 7 time champion in NASCAR, with 83 race wins under his belt. In IndyCar he's not as good, not at all, but how can you not like Jimmie after all of the good he had in NASCAR? We like to think he's on the right track after struggling early in his IndyCar career, he only has a best finish of 6th but hopefully it will turn into a win soon enough.

NASCAR Favorites

Ohh boy here we go, my NASCAR Cup series favorites. Stay tuned, there's a good lot. First off is my current favorite driver, my boy Martin Truex Jr. The one time champion of 2017 has always had my eye on him secretly while I was mainly focused on Gordon and Elliott, after I grew out of my Elliott phase I went right over to the beautibearded man that is Martin Lee Truex Jr. No my favorite team is not Gibbs, and it probably never will be Gibbs, I am a Hendrick boy by heart growing up with this sport with Gordon and the 24 team. And yes before you ask, I was very bummed at the Phoenix race when Truex came 2nd following Larson for the championship, incredibly bummed. This guy won at the first ever NASCAR race I ever went to, Dover's Gander RV 400 in 2019. He is a very calm and likable guy, no controversies like his Gibbs teammates. His personal life is pretty sad right now and I'm glad he still has a positive attitude.

My next driver I'm not sure will even qualify for this challenge but what the hell I'll try it. Jeff Gordon, 4 time champion and my first ever favorite racer in motorsports history. I started liking this guy with the help of Tyler King when we were very young and very stupid. As a watcher of NASCAR for a while, I've seen Gordon win multiple times, including his last in 2015. Don't believe me for some reason? Check the We Talk NASCAR YT channel and scroll for ages and eventually you'll find it :). Either way I've been a fan and have been with the 24 team since the first day I started watching this sport. 24ever

The next driver we have on my favorites list is Daniel Hemric, do I even need to explain? His XFINITY season last year was so impressive and outstanding to me, when he won it got me and Tyler King jumping out of our seats. At the start of the season, 0 wins, he has won 0 races until his race at Phoenix Raceway. An incredible bump and run on the final corner and slamming Austin Cindric's door gave him his first ever win PLUS a BEAUTIFUL championship to go with it, that will 100% be in the history books, that has to be one of my favorite moments in NASCAR. Now even though this was XFINITY and not Cup, I think it still counts, I mean he races part time in Cup now.

William Byron, driver of the 24, if you drive the 24 I automatically love you, shut it, it doesn't need to make sense. Like I said before, 24ever, there isn't much I have to say about Byron, his skill speaks for himself, not only in Cup either, both Trucks and XFINITY he did really well with back then, and he still does impress, he has a super win contender car, for wins and hopefully even a championship one day. Who knows, maybe when Truex retires, I could go right back to the 24 :eyes: :eyes:

As for favorite race this weekend, it's gotta be Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600, I love the Indy for obvious reasons and love Charlotte, it's one of my favorite tracks to this day.
