Well Hello Everyone! I have been absent for quite some time now, this has been the busiest year of my whole 10+ years of owning livestock

Since we have now rapped up our 2022 kidding season and almost into our new kidding year for 2023 i would like to announce the names of each kid and the 2022 keepers! I normally do a blog about who i keep and the names all separate blogs but since i’ve gotten busier i thought this would be the easiest way!

So i did end up keeping more than i had planned.. but i plan on possibly rehoming when they get older, i just want to see if they do well in shows and how their mothers produce and just do more research about them. So i’m keeping a lot of babies at the moment but it might not always be this way.

So anyways.. let’s meet these babies!

On February 27 Evie kidded triplets at 8:03pm

P1 buckling : Cybertron “retained” i’m going to keep ahold of this buck until he reaches a year old then give him off to his new family i want to do some testing on him to make him worth more and produce better genetics for other families who are working for a better line of goats.

On May 28th Ellie kidding a singleton at 7:17pm

P11 doeling : Rosalie “retained” in love with her genetics and wonderful color patterns. looks isn’t a big deal to me but i would more of a flashy herd.

So because i’m retaining a lot of these kids doesn’t mean they will have a permanent home here. My plan is to raise them up until maturity level then possibly re-home them. The bucklings i’m keeping for sure will find a new home once they get bigger and ready to breed. The doelings are in the safer zone with me keeping them but if i do plan on selling them i will wait until they are old enough to be bred then sell them. When you sell a pregnant goat you can sell them for more.

I want to genetically prove their parents. Most of my goats are already proven but i like to have the best. I’m very competitive and i find joy in improving my show and milking lines, not only is it fun putting in the working for the best but giving other people opportunities to improve their own lines.
