Mochinosuke Hashi or Mochi, is an original character created for the popular animated series and manga Tokyo Revengers. Origins starting in the Tokyo Revengers Amino, for a Vampire Au roleplay that took place in one of the Public Group chats.

The character further developed into a fully fleshed out character with his own proper lore and as of current is a founding member and the leader of the Tartarus Gang.

APPEARANCE

Mochinosuke Hashi, a teenager of Afro-Asian heritage, possesses a striking appearance. His heart-shaped face, muscular build, and average height combine to form a unique physique. His curly hair, cascading to his shoulders and framed by messy bangs, is often adorned with a scarf that stylishly separates his bangs from the rest of his hair.

A pair of lime green sunglasses frequently obscures his distinctive features, but beneath them lie a pair of sleepy, lidded yellow eyes. Despite his perpetually tired expression, a playful and cheeky smile often graces his face, regardless of the situation.

When not in his school uniform, Mochi opts for his gang attire: an oversized, high-collared toppuku that conceals his mouth, paired with loose-fitting jumper pants and black slides. Outside of these two outfits, he typically wears hand-me-downs from his older brother, consisting of baggy shirts and sweatpants.

PERSONALITY

Mochi is a carefree teenager with a penchant for jokes and pranks, often targeting his closest friends. Despite his playful demeanor, he harbors a deep appreciation for his friends and family, especially considering his abandonment by his parents. He rarely displays weakness, viewing himself as the backbone of Tartarus and its . He believes that any sign of vulnerability on his part could weaken the entire group.

Another quirk he picked up after being abandoned by his parents was, selective mutism. Mochi holds great value in his words. Still he says the occasional word or two, but it’s rare for him to speak in full sentences unless the situation truly calls for it.

Even as the leader of Tartarus, Mochi maintains his youthful and carefree persona, though he adopts a more imposing and commanding presence when necessary. While his respect him, they also harbor a degree of fear towards his immense power.

Inspired by his older brother's past gang involvement, Mochi initially aspired to a gang himself. However, when approached by his best friend Ichika with the idea of forming their own gang, he enthusiastically agreed, eager to take on the role of leader.

Mochi, unlike many delinquents, has a solid foundation in martial arts, specifically Krav Maga, a discipline he honed alongside his older brother Dango since childhood. The demanding physical nature of Krav Maga, combining cardio and strength training, has contributed to his peak physical condition.

His signature move, the "Wind Mallet," is a devastating combination. A swift elbow strike to the jugular is followed by a powerful head kick, often incapacitating opponents with a single blow. The speed and precision of this technique make it nearly impossible to counter.

Charisma

Mochinosuke has that natural charisma to him to be easily likeable. He is a bright and sociable person, but not so much that it gets annoying. Well, unless he’s trying to be on purpose. This Charisma is also what makes him such a good leader, being able to grab the attention of all his with little to no words. As they say it’s all in the body language.

Etymology

His first name Mochinosuke (餅之助) means - 餅 means "rice cake", 之 means "of, this, that", 助 means "aid, help, assist."

The surname Hashi (箸) means - "箸" means "chopsticks".
