We know that this past year the community has been on the slower side, but the leaders are back!! Also we are still wanting this community to continue growing so we have a big goal to reach 350 . 🪻 Chatrooms 🪻

We are going through a few minor changes with our chatrooms. You’ll notice that some chatrooms have been deleted. Even though the community hasn’t been active in a while, the leaders decided to delete chatroom where there wasn’t movement since before this year-long lull. We are very eager to get this community moving again and we’re always eager for new chats!!

Even with all our current chatrooms changes, we are hoping to open chatrooms based on Taoism, Islam, Paganism, Judaism, and others. If you’re interested in creating one of these chats or a chat that’s a different subject or religion, please one of the s and make a request. Also, if you’re interested in making a chat, please click HERE to read all the rules required for a chat host.

🪻 Wikis 🪻

Our collection of Wikis is currently growing beautifully at the moment. We would like to see it get even bigger this month. If you have a wiki that you would like to submit that is informative to help answer the questions of those who seek that I formation, please do so. Also, if you have a very informative blog, please consider copying & pasting it into a wiki and submitting it. The way to do that is to click on the three dots at the top right hand corner of your wiki AFTER you’ve published it, then click to option to submit. That option is in yellow and hard to miss. It will ask you why you want to submit your post, so simply write which category it would fit in. If that category isn’t currently available, then type the category we need to create to fit your wiki in. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask anyone on the team.

🪻 Titles 🪻

We have had several people ask how to win titles. There are now four ways to earn a title. The first way is if you’re a vendor or Youtuber. If you would like to your wares as a vendor, or your YouTube channel, please let one of the leaders or curators know. If your product/content has to do with world religions, then we’ll approve it, you’ll receive a special title, and you’ll be allowed to your product or content!! Also, if you have another Amino community that you would like to link in your profile, let us know so we can give you the official r tag.

The second way to gain a title is if you would like a pronoun title. To learn more about how to gain a pronoun title, please click HERE.

Another way to earn titles is by participating in any of the community blog challenges, you will be eligible to win. If there are more than six entries total of the blog challenges in one month, then at the end of the month the leader team will choose our favorite blogs out of all those written from the blog challenges, and those people will win a custom title of their choice! Be on the lookout for our next blog challenge. Community blog challenges are posted every Sunday.

If there are six or more participants in the blog challenges this month, the winners will be announced in the next month’s newsletter.

🪻 Trolls 🪻

There have been several trolls in a lot of communities. If you see a troll anywhere, please screenshot their message, and DM a leader so we can properly get rid of them. If you are approached by anyone making you uncomfortable or sending you inappropriate messages, please screenshot their message, flag their profile, block them, leave the conversation, then message a leader immediately. We do not and will not put up with anyone being inappropriate with any of our .

Also, and probably most importantly, if you see a profile with an unusual name, like an email address, or image text, like [ IMG=001 ] for example, please let know asap and

DON’T CLICK ON IT!!!

These could be hackers who could steal your profile, or worse. Please be on the lookout for any sus behavior in our wonderful community!!!

🪻 Religious Holiday of the Month 🪻

Beltane

Beltane is a Gaelic festival and the first day of Summer. This is the day rituals were performed to protect cattle, crops, and the people, and to encourage growth. Special bonfires were made, and it was said that their embers and smoke had protective powers. These rituals would also be accompanied by feasts and some of the food and drink would be offered to the aos sí, a supernatural race in Irish and Scottish mythology that were comparable to fairies.

World Migratory Bird Day

In 2025, World Migratory Bird Day will be celebrated on May 10 in the spring and October 11 in fall. The conservation theme this year is Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities. This year’s theme promotes the importance of a healthy coexistence between people and birds by focusing on creating bird-friendly cities and communities.

Bird friendly practices include creating healthy habitats, reducing bird collisions with buildings and glass, reducing pollution, and providing ample food sources for birds. No matter what type of community you live in, YOU can help birds!

🪻 Sacred Ritual of the Month 🪻

The Avar Burials

We know from various archeological finds, as well as written s by other historical peoples, such as the Franks and the Byzantines, that the Avars' cultural system orbited their divine connection to horses. We understand that horses were important for them in their day to day lives, as well as in warfare, but we truly understand this relationship between man and horse, by excavating the Avar graves.

Reigning in the Western Steppe during the sixth through to the eighth centuries common era, the Avars believed that horses possessed supernatural powers and so in their graves, they were buried with horse corpses, horse pieces and horse symbology such as saddles and stirrups, depending on the deceased's class and wealth.

Our evidence of this is primarily found in excavation sites in Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia.

If funerary rites can tell us about how a culture viewed their relationships with their own ways of life, what do our relationships with death tell us about ourselves, today?

🪻 Scientific Discovery of the Month 🪻

JADES-GS-z14-0 Galaxy

On May 30, 2024 was the discovery of the most distant known galaxy by the James Webb Space Telescope, a new AI model with improved multimodal capabilities, and the smallest quantum light detector on a silicon chip. NASA reports that the James Webb Space Telescope has discovered JADES-GS-z14-0, the most distant known galaxy, which existed only 290 million years after the Big Bang. Its redshift of 14.32 exceeds the previous record of 13.2, set by JADES-GS-z13-0.

🪻 Important Goddess of the Month 🪻

Maia

Maia is one of the Greek gods, known as a goddess of spring and growth. She is one of the Pleiades (oldest of seven beautiful sisters in Greek mythology). Maia is the daughter of Atlas, who holds up the sky, mother, and Pleione, a sea nymph. She is famous for being the mother of Hermes, the speedy messenger god. Maia loved to live in a cozy cave alone on Mount Cyllene, located in Greece . This mountain is special because it is home to many Greek myths and magic.

Maia is celebrated for bringing warmth and new life to Earth, making her very important in ancient stories of nature and rebirth.

As a goddess of spring, Maia is often associated with flowers, fruits, and plants. She nurtures them as they grow, and because of her, they bloom and provide food for both animals and humans.

She is mentioned in Homer’s “Iliad” and is a part of many myths. The Pleiades sisters were often connected to the stars and were visible in the sky, especially in springtime. Maia's myth tells us about how she was a peaceful goddess who lived alone in a cave. The Greeks named the month of May after her, celebrating the beauty of spring and flowers blooming as an offering.

People would honor her with festivals to thank her for the gifts of nature she provided.

She is often depicted wearing a flowing dress made of the finest flowers and leaves. Maia's hair is like golden rays of sunlight, shining brightly with a warm glow. Sometimes she is shown holding a basket filled with fruits and flowers, symbolizing nature’s bounty.

Maia protects flowers, and her name means "nurse" or "mother." Maia is known for being nurturing and caring toward her son Hermes. Maia also taught Hermes how to speed up and help others by delivering messages.

In myths, she lives happily and quietly, keeping to herself, but she is also seen helping humans and nature. Maia and her sisters, would sometimes come together to dance and sing welcoming in May as part of nature’s harmony.

She loves to watch them grow in the garden, and traditionally, people would have feasts with delicious fruits during her celebrations in May.

🪻 Recipe of the Month 🪻

Avocado Toast

There are many different toppings you can add to avocado toast. I’ve seen so many different types. However, this is probably my favorite.

Ingredients

• ciabatta

• mini cucumber

• 1/4 oz dill

• 1/2 cup avocado

• 1/2 cup feta

• crispy fried onions

Instructions

1. Halve ciabatta and toast until golden brown

2. Trim & slice cucumber

3. Pick & roughly chop fronds from dill

4. Slice or mash avocado and spread evenly across ciabatta

5. Top with cucumber & sprinkle filth feta, dill, and crispy fried onions
