Yo my exuberant miraculers!

Sorry this took me so long to release! I actually had finished writing this chapter weeks ago but never got around to posting it. To make up for it, I’ll post another chapter tomorrow.

Just to give you guys a heads up, this is my first time ever writing action scenes so forgive me if it’s awkward or unrealistic. I would appreciate for any commented suggestions to make it better!

Credits to MADDIE for the beautiful cover art!

I have asked permission to use her art

Chapter 3: Cat Fights

“You piece of shit!” The bully shouted in animosity, slamming a purple-haired boy into the chipped wall. It left him gasping for oxygen and susceptible to an overwhelming rush of agony. He heard the wall behind him shatter into scattered brick crumblings. When that wasn’t enough, the antagonizer aggressively curled his fingers around the victim’s neck and squeezed, nearly choking the life out of his prey like a boa constrictor.

Nooroo coughed violently, using his own weak hands to try to pry the bully’s large, hairy hands off of his neck. However, the tormenter’s grip was too strong, tightening every second with every struggle Nooroo’s trembling throat made as he was shoved deeper into the crack in the wall.

The violet-haired boy could barely see a thing with one eye closed while his neck was about to be crushed, but he still forced himself to pushed the words out of his gurgling mouth.

“U-Ubel...P-Please…” Nooroo begged, “M-My...friend...don’t hurt him...please.” Crimson blood oozed out of the side of his mouth when he had coughed.

A few feet away laid Wayzz, his best friend. He was unconscious with a few scratches and purple-black bruises on his face, but other than that he was unharmed and alive. His green broken glasses next to him were tossed to the side due to the tormentor’s nasty handiwork when Wayzz had tried to stop him.

Ubel sneered, leaning in intimidatingly close to his prey. Nooroo fought the urge to gag at the villain’s gamey beer odor of his breath.

“I don’t think you’re in any position to make any requests at the moment. Your bastard buddy there gave me one hell of a bruise, and I have no intention of leaving him out of the fun. Tell you what, right after I’m done with you, I think I’ll make your friend there bleed a little more. How does that sound?” The terrifying monster guffawed like what he said was the funniest thing in the world. “Besides, if I were you, I’d be a lot more worried about myself.”

A hiccup threatened to escape Nooroo’s throat as petrification numbed his arms and legs from moving. He tried to force his aching muscles to reach out to his friend.

My body...it won’t move...I can’t reach...Wyatt...I’m sorry...Forgive me…

If only he hadn’t accidentally bumped into the older boy’s back when he wasn’t looking where he was going. If only Wyatt hadn’t jumped in to save him.

If only…If only I was stronger…Someone help us…

“Hey! You! What the heck do you think you’re doing over there?!” A resonating gong sounded in Nooroo’s mind. Ubel’s grip loosened tightly as he whirled his head to the side, where the shouts were coming from. The violet-eyed boy gasped for air and swerved his head as well.

What he didn’t expect to see was another boy bolting toward them. The boy was about his age with scruffy hair like ink, bright green irises, and a wickedly curved smirk. His nimble frame reminded Nooroo of a cat. As he stood, towering over Nooroo like a skyscraper, his relaxed stance radiated the very essence of cool.

‘Incredible…’ Nooroo thought in a daze.

“Eh?” Ubel snarked, releasing Nooroo with a clunk to the tiled floor. “Who’re you? Never seen anyone like you hanging around these parts before. I suggest you skedaddle before things get messy.” The tormentor cracked his neck with a loud pop.

The dark-haired student yawned, not at all affected by his opponent’s size or threats. “Considering it’s a worthless nobody who has nothing better to do than beating people up for fun, I’d rather take my chances taking a swing against ya.”

“Oh? You’ve got quite the sharp tongue, talking back to me. Tell me kid, do you have any idea who you’re messing with right now?” Ubel sneered.

The unexpected challenger said nothing. His slit-pupil eyes revealed no fear whatsoever, only blatant boredom.

Ubel growled like a bear. “That’s it! You’re really pissing me off right now, and no one calls me a nobody! No one!” He surged forward with clenched fists, ready to pound his next target. “You’re mine!”

A fiery glint flickered in the mysterious student’s eyes. “Bring it.”

Just before Ubel struck the first blow, the forest green-eyed boy dodged at lightning speed and dealt a swift high kick against the bully’s skull from the back. The villainous oppressor stumbled forward from the hit and choked on his spit, biting his tongue. He howled in pain as a splash of coppery blood filled his mouth.

Just as the bully gained his footing, he tried to counterattack but his opponent was ready with a rapid fire amount of punches toward Ubel’s face. Ubel’s eyes rolled to the back of his head, and he crashed into the nearest wall, one eye open while paralysed with fear.

The boy stretched his arms, cracking a few tired bones. “That was a nice morning workout,” he sighed with bitter satisfaction. “Sad part was my opponent really was all bark and no bite. You couldn’t put a scratch on me even if you tried. I even went easy on you. What a bore. Yo! You two alright over there?” He addressed Noah and his sleeping friend, ignoring Ubel completely.

Tears trickled down Ubel’s face. “Why, you piece of-” Before he could finish his foul sentence, the sharp tweet of a whistle sounded, capturing everyone’s attention.

“Ubel Mizore. You’re under suspension for inflicting heavy damage on your younger peers through bullying and fights and for breaking and entering the academy without supervised permission, and as such you’re to come with me! Student Council President Tikki Evans,” A short girl with flowing hair like cardinal feathers commanded. “Do not try to resist or I will not hesitate to call on the other council , security, or even the principal himself,” she threatened while gesturing to her earpiece as she dared him to try to make a move.

“President Tikki!” Nooroo cried in utter relief. His unresponsive friend still laying, soundly asleep in his arms.

Tikki grinned. “Sorry I couldn’t arrive sooner.”

The raven-haired boy peered at Tikki like she was an alien from another universe. “Who’s this shortie?” Which earned himself a blazing glare from the so-called alien.

Damn it! This is exactly what I was trying to avoid! If only that bastard hadn’t tried to intervene, I would’ve been home free by now! Now, I got the student council president here, my chances of surviving are close to zero! If I make a run for it now, I’ll get caught for sure! What do I do?!

A wicked idea popped into Ubel’s mind and with nothing to lose, he went through with it. Stomping forward, he slammed his body into the enigmatic boy’s, causing him to lose his balance as he started spiralling downwards atop the 4-foot girl.

Damn it! I should’ve watched him more carefully! I can’t stop!

The green-eyed boy swore as his keen eyes picked up on the final image of the bully running away with his tail in-between his legs from the crime scene.

He saw her sapphire eyes widening to the size of saucers and heard her piercing scream. His huge physique whammed into hers, sending her toppling headfirst into the metal locker. The last thing he saw was her small body collapsing into his arms with a loud thunk.

Whelp, that just happened...

Fun fact: this chapter was actually based off a true event in my life, that last scene of course with some rather unforeseen circumstances. And yes, I was the one who toppled headfirst into a locker, lol :joy:

Until next time! Bug Out!
