Marinette winced at the perceiving, raspy hisses that were spit toward her face. Adrien himself was shaking from the terror of their predicament and the fact that his lady was Marinette. Looks like the cat was out of the bag for the both of them.
Felix widened his evil grin. "You see Marinette. This is why you're both here today. In chapter 8, section 2; no noble may be allowed to court any commoner without the and permission of the current king-"
"Adrien is the current king!" Marinette shouted.
"Tut, tut my dear," Felix's grin only widened. "As of this moment, I am king of Northern . So I will take all that was for Adrien to moi. I suppose you should be a bit grateful dear brother. I also have to marry Miss Bourgeois now. I know that she didn't fit in your category of women."
Marinette snarled. How dare he talk trash about women as if we were mere objects!
Adrien's face almost looked relieved that he didn't have to marry Chloe and he thanked the gods for that before realizing what price he had to pay for that luxury. Prison for life.
Marinette may have been infuriated, but she needed to keep a calm, rational head. There was still one thing that bothered her. "How did you figure out my identity in the first place?"
"Simple really," Felix shrugged carelessly. "I had my friend, Diaspro, look after my dear brother. When she noticed that he was secretly being visited by a woman in red and black, I had her investigate immediately. I couldn't have an assassin killing my brother now can I?"
Marinette cursed herself for letting her guard down. She should have been more careful. Marinette could see a scolding from Tikki in her future if she ever made it out of here.
"So you see darling. I win." Felix guffawed so rigorously that he started coughing in between fits of unconfined joker laughter.
Marinette smiled. Time for Plan B. "Actually, I think it's time for me to turn the tables." She easily stood up, flicking pieces of tattered rope off of her.
Felix's glance was horrified at her sudden, easy escape. "What?! That's impossible! How did you-"
"Simple really," Marinette mimicked Felix's previous words. She held up a small, sharp dagger in her hand. "When your guards were about to drag us to this time wasting courtroom, I noticed they were both quite drowsy. I took advantage of that, and slipped my hand onto their belt and borrowed a dagger. So while you blabbing about your so called victory; boring the guards to sleep, I used that chance to cut the rope. Brilliant right?"
Felix's face was stuck in a hateful scowl. "Ridiculous! The guards couldn't be-" He stopped once he heard the rumbling of the guards' snores.
"Think again," Marinette was pleased at Felix's sudden alter in attitude. When he was acting all high and mighty before. Now, he was nothing more than a false king. "It was risk though since it all depended on you driving them to sleep so I guess I should say thanks for helping my plan work." She pulled the two swords out of the guards' sheaths, sliced off Adrien's ropes, and tossed him one of the twin swords.
"Oh yeah," Adrien murmured at his lady's magnificence at pulling this off. "This is more my style. You never could beat in a sword fight baby brother."
Felix looked as though he was about to rip off all the platinum blond hair on his head to shreds.
"That's it," Marinette beamed. "Game over."

Hahahaha! That was a plot twist for ya kitties! Unfortunately, this story is coming to it's conclusion. :sob: I'm thinking of ending it at Part 25 to make all nice. Lolz. Thank you all who enjoyed this story and have been with me since the beginning. Love you all! :heart:
